Oil of Oregano

Oil of Oregano is an antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, antieverything. People dismiss alternative remedies far too easily…to their own detriment sometimes.

Flu season is pretty bad right now; I have a case of it myself. It really took hold and tried to take me down last night. My saving grace has always been Oil of Oregano. I keep a really good one on hand at all times. The active ingredient is Carvacrol and Zane Hellas has a very good concentration of 86%-90%. Way higher than most brands you’ll find on the market. I’ve tried others in the past but I discovered and stick with this one. This one actually comes from Greece but you can order it through Amazon and it’s very inexpensive. Especially compared to what you’d spend if you ran off to an urgent care, emergency room, or the doctor.

Any time I feel a pathogen trying to get a foothold in my body, I start taking these soft gels and it cuts the severity and duration of anything I’ve ever had literally in half. I swear by it! This goes for after an infection has already occurred as well. I get sinus and lung infections often due to respiratory sensitivities I live with.

You’ll never see me run off to the doctor or urgent care for a flu, even Covid, because they can’t do anything for you anyway. You’ve wasted your time and money and exerted yourself when you should be resting and you’ve exposed yourself to other pathogens. Those waiting rooms are a place to marinade in germs from strangers who are so sick they’re desperate for care. They don’t need your germs and you don’t need theirs.

Instead, make a quick trip to the store and grab some things to make yourself as comfortable as possible at home while you buckle down to kick this thing. Get some Gatorade or other to keep your electrolytes up, some soups or light food that you can keep down, some NSAIDs, something for nausea like Pepto-Bismol, a cheap antidiarrheal like Imodium, and even some Theraflu or such. That’s your arsenal. Only take what you need when you need it, don’t bombard your body with these things if you can get by without them. I also recommend some snacks.

Get into your pajamas, take your Oil of Oregano with some food and let the thing run it’s shortened course. Be sure to follow the directions, these little things are very powerful!

However, with all that said…antibiotics are great if you really need them but keep in mind that one course of them leaves you with a microbiome apocalypse that can take around 6 months or more to rebuild.

Here’s a good source of information about your gut Microbiome:

https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/body/25201-gut-microbiome

“Your gut microbiome is a microscopic world within the world of your larger body. The trillions of microorganisms that live there affect each other and their environment in various ways. They also appear to influence many aspects of your overall health, both within your digestive system and outside of it.”

Here’s one of many good sources of information about Oil of Oregano from WebMD:

https://www.webmd.com/diet/oregano-oil-good-for-you

“Oregano oil, or oil of oregano, comes from the leaves of the oregano plant and has been used in folk medicine for centuries to prevent illness. Today, many people still use it to fight infections and the common cold despite its renowned bitter, unpleasant taste.”

Note: the one I recommend above is a soft gel.. no exposure to the nasty taste. Below in the gallery are an ad photo of the one that I use and highly recommend. And a photo of the soft gel I’m about to take for the evening.
